Barr Back In The Ring Over Plan B

Law360, New York (August 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amid controversy surrounding Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s move to make its morning after contraceptive pill available without a prescription, the drug maker has refiled its application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to sell Plan B over the counter to women over 18.

Barr—which makes Plan B through subsidiary Duramed Pharmaceuticals Inc.— submitted a revised application on Friday seeking federal approval to sell the Plan B "morning after" pill without a prescription, the FDA said.
