Shareholders Take Aim At Riverstone’s General Counsel

Law360, New York (August 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The shareholders of Riverstone Networks Inc. have accused the company’s former general counsel of trying to block an investigation into alleged potential wrongdoing committed by the telecommunications equipment maker’s top executives.

On Thursday, lawyers for the shareholders filed papers alleging that Noah Mesel, once Riverstone’s top attorney, had been destroying evidence for months.

Riverstone, which makes ethernet routers for the telecommunications industry, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection shortly after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission launched an investigation into the company's initial public offering....
