Tainted Syringes Spark International Manhunt

Law360, New York (February 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- An international manhunt is reportedly under way for the president of a company who is accused of knowingly shipping bacteria-laden prefilled syringes that have led to at least five deaths and sickened hundreds of people.

Two former employees of the AM2PAT factory pled guilty Monday to charges of fraud and allowing tainted drugs into the market.

Dushyant Patel, the former president of Raleigh, N.C.-based AM2PAT, Inc., is thought to be hiding in his native India, McClatchy Newspapers reported.
