Microsoft Targets TomTom In District Court, ITC

Law360, New York (February 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. has sued TomTom NV and filed a complaint against the navigation-technology company with the U.S. International Trade Commission, in the first legal action by the software giant over alleged infringement related to the open source Linux operating system.

On Wednesday, Microsoft filed a patent infringement complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, seeking a permanent injunction and treble damages.
