EPA Announces Alternative Pollution Tests

Law360, New York (February 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced a series of decisions it made last year allowing companies to use alternative tests to check for compliance with national emissions standards, and is asking for public comments.

In a notice published Thursday in the Federal Register, the EPA announced 11 alternative tests companies can use to test for the presence of various pollutants in their emissions, including particulate matter, various organic compounds and lead.
