Ohio AG Adds Two More Giants To Fannie Mae Suit

Law360, New York (August 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and KPMG LLP have been named as additional defendants in one of the securities-fraud lawsuits stemming from the massive accounting scandal at Fannie Mae.

Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro revealed the news on Monday. He indicated that the pair was added after the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, which oversees Fannie Mae and its equally troubled sibling, Freddie Mac, discovered “new evidence” in May.
