Implicit Counters Sun Bid To Nix Server Patents

Law360, New York (March 02, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Patent-holding company Implicit Networks Inc. has accused Sun Microsystems Inc. of infringing two patents related to applet server software, striking back after Sun filed suit in January to invalidate the patents.

Implicit Networks lodged counterclaims Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging Sun Microsystems’ server products — and its GlassFish application server in particular — use Implicit’s patented technology without a license.
