Union Cries Foul On Star Tribune's Move To Nix CBA

Law360, New York (March 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The union representing pressmen at the bankrupt Star Tribune Co. has lodged an objection to the Minnesota newspaper's request to cancel its collective bargaining agreement, claiming that the proposal does not treat the union fairly.

Local 1M of the Graphic Communications Conference/International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which represents 116 pressmen at the paper, filed the objection Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The union urged the court to deny the Star Tribune's Feb. 19 motion to reject the CBA....
