ITC To Probe Emcore Over Avago Fiber Optics Patents

Law360, New York (March 05, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to investigate whether semiconductor company Emcore Corp. has imported optoelectronic devices that infringe the patents of rival Avago Technologies Ltd.

The ITC announced Thursday it would take up Avago's complaint, which accuses New Mexico-based Emcore of making fiber optic components that infringe Avago's U.S. Patent Numbers 5,359,447 and 5,761,229.
