Pillsbury To Pay $10M In SonicBlue Malpractice Deal

Law360, New York (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- March is a cruel month for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, as the firm, fresh from slashing its work force, has agreed to pay roughly $10 million to settle a malpractice suit waged by the former bankruptcy trustee of SonicBlue Inc.

Under a settlement before Judge Marilyn Morgan of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, Pillsbury will pay the SonicBlue estate $7.65 million and waive a further $2.3 million in unpaid fees and costs for its tarnished services in the bankruptcy proceeding....
