Law360, New York (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has been granted an extra month to respond to European Commission allegations that it engaged in anti-competitive behavior by tying Internet Explorer to its Windows operating system, an EC spokesman announced Wednesday.
The company had asked for an extension and was given a new deadline of April 21, spokesman Jonathan Todd said.
On Jan. 15, the EC began investigating whether bundling Windows and the Internet Explorer browser harmed competition and reduced consumer choice.
