IBM Wants ASUSTeK Sanctioned In Discovery Spat

Law360, New York (March 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- IBM Corp. has asked a federal judge to sanction ASUSTeK Computer Inc. for failing to produce documents relating to sales of imported computer components that IBM alleges infringe several of its patents.

In a motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for Northern California, IBM says it intends to ask a judge on April 15 to impose sanctions on ASUSTeK for refusing to provide detailed documentation regarding the sales of the disputed devices, in violation of a Dec. 8, 2008 court order.
