Bertelsmann Refuses To Bear Risk In BMG Auction

Law360, New York (August 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As German media group Bertelsmann AG takes final bids next week for the sale of its music publishing business, BMG Music Publishing, the media company said it wants to steer clear of any antitrust risks.

“Bertelsmann will not bear any antitrust risk. If a company wants to buy the business, the antitrust risk is with the buyer,” the media group’s spokesperson said Friday.
