EU Hits Eni With Antitrust Warning Over Gas Pipelines

Law360, New York (March 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has sent preliminary antitrust objections to Eni SpA, warning the Italian energy giant that it may have abused its dominant market position by allegedly hoarding capacity in its international natural gas transmission pipelines.

The regulator sent the Italian-state controlled company a statement of objections regarding the alleged antitrust violations on March 6, the commission said Thursday.
