Payless, Target Reach Deal In Suit Over Slogan

Law360, New York (March 19, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Payless Shoesource Worldwide Inc. and Target Corp. have settled the remaining claims in a suit over Target's slogan “Expect More. Pay Less,” which Payless claimed infringed its trademarks.

Judge Julie A. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas had granted partial summary judgment in favor of Target in November. That ruling disposed of all Payless' claims in the suit except those related to Target's purchase of the word “payless” from Yahoo's sponsored-link advertising program.
