Ricoh Accuses Taiwanese Competitors Of Patent Infringement

Law360, New York (August 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japanese office equipment maker Ricoh Co. Ltd. has sued two rival Taiwanese companies for allegedly violating four of its patents on optical disk technologies.

In court documents filed Thursday with the U.S. District Court in Madison, Wis., Ricoh accused Quanta Storage Inc. and ASUSTeK Computer Inc. of shipping infringed products between Taiwan, China and the United States.

The products specifically mentioned in the suit include the ASUS DRW-0804P and ASUS CRW-5232 disk drives by ASUSTeK and the QSI SBW-242 and QSI SDW-082 disk drives by Quanta....
