Deals Rumor Mill: Toshiba, State Bank Of India, Petronas

By Benjamin Horney (June 5, 2017, 3:54 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. are teaming with Foxconn Technology Group on a proposal to acquire Toshiba Corp.'s multibillion-dollar memory chip business, according to a report from Reuters on Monday. According to the report, which cited comments made by Foxconn's chairman to the Nikkei business daily, Apple and Amazon will "chip in funds." Sharp Corp. is also participating in the Foxconn-led bid, the report said. Previous reports have said the memory chip business is expected to be worth at least 2 trillion yen ($18 billion), and other suitors include Broadcom Ltd., Silver Lake Partners LP, Bain Capital and SK Hynix Inc....
