Operation Wooden Nickel Leads To Another Judgment

Law360, New York (March 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yet another defendant caught up in the government's Operation Wooden Nickel enforcement sting will be forced to pay civil restitution for allegedly participating in a boiler room operation that sold illegal foreign currency futures contracts.

On Tuesday, Judge George B. Daniels of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's motion for summary judgment, saying its request for injunctive relief, a civil monetary fine and other ancillary equitable relief was warranted.
