U.K. Lawmaker To Probe Gas Market

Law360, New York (August 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A United Kingdom parliament member announced Wednesday a probe into the U.K. gas network, saying he plans to investigate whether large gas firms are driving up prices in a bid to restrict gas from entering the country.

Parliament member John Hemming said Wednesday that “the U.K. gas market has anti-competitive elements within it,” adding that he is considering asking the Office of Fair Trading to launch an investigation into possible anti-competitive behavior.
