Senate Bill Aims To Stop Natural Gas Manipulation

Law360, New York (March 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Democrat has introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate to increase the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's regulatory power and curb manipulation in the natural gas markets.

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., introduced the ‘‘Natural Gas and Electricity Review and Enforcement Act’’ on Tuesday. The bill would amend the Natural Gas Act, the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978 and the Federal Power Act.
