Lawyer Layoffs Reported At 3 Firms

Law360, New York (March 26, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Three more law firms will be adding to their pink slip piles as Dechert LLP, Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP and Clifford Chance LLP all announced additional layoffs Thursday, racking up a total of 209 jobs cut, including those of 112 attorneys.

Dechert said the firm was cutting 125 jobs from offices worldwide. The reductions will include 63 lawyers and 62 individuals in administrative positions, the firm said. Nearly all the firm’s 18 offices around the world are affected by the layoffs.
