Paid Family And Medical Leave Program Proposed

Law360, New York (March 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Four Democratic U.S. representatives have introduced legislation that would give working Americans 12 weeks of paid benefits annually to take care of ill family members, new children or their own illnesses.

Pete Stark, D-Calif., George Miller, D-Calif., Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., and Carolyn Maloney, D-Calif, on Thursday introduced the Family Leave Insurance Act of 2009, a bill that would have employees and employers make equal contribution to a fund that would pay for their sick and family leave.
