Shure's Patent Misuse Claims Nixed In Earphone Case

Law360, New York (March 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Audio electronics company Shure Inc. managed to get the damages in an earphone technology patent suit brought by Hearing Components Inc. cut by $3 million earlier this month, but the court overseeing the case has rejected Shure's claims that numerous HCI licensing agreements contained provisions constituting patent misuse.
