Sprint's VoIP Battle Earns Two Settlements

Law360, New York (August 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecommunications giant Sprint Nextel Corp. reached a settlement Thursday with two defendants in its patent infringement lawsuit over Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, according to a company statement.

The settlement removes from litigation two Web-based phone companies, Theglobe.com Inc. and Tglo.com Inc. (formerly known as VoiceGlo Holdings Inc.) However, the most significant alleged infringer, broadband telephone firm Vonage Holdings Corp., remains determined to fight the suit.
