Asustek Slapped With Sanctions In Chip Patent Fight

Law360, New York (March 31, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has issued sanctions against Asustek Computer Inc. for allegedly destroying evidence in a patent infringement suit brought by a former IBM Corp. engineer over computer chip technology.

Magistrate Judge David Nuffer of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah issued sanctions Monday after ruling that although the Asustek and its parent company, Asus Computer International Inc., may not have intentionally destroyed data, their documentation practices were troublesome enough to warrant sanctions.
