Bill Calls For Transportation Plans To Cut Emissions

Law360, New York (March 31, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As members of Congress put forth a slew of bills to fight global warming, Rep. Doris Matsui, D-Calif., has introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that would help states and cities develop land use and transportation plans that ultimately cut greenhouse gas emissions.

On Tuesday, Matsui introduced the Smart Planning for Smart Growth Act of 2009, also known as H.R. 1780, which would amend the Clean Air Act to reduce emissions through creating more efficient transportation.
