Court Approves Sun-Times' First-Day Motions

Law360, New York (April 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A bankruptcy court on Wednesday approved several first-day motions filed by ailing newspaper company Sun-Times Media Co. Inc., allowing the debtor to pay employees and vendors and to retain a consultant to aid with asset sales.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware approved the debtor's motion to retain financial consulting firm Kurtzman Carson Consultants LLC to help investigate the planned sale and reorganization of certain assets.
