3rd Circ. Overturns Amkor Fraud Acquittal

Law360, New York (April 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Saying the U.S. government's evidence was adequate to support the verdict, a federal appellate court has reinstated the conviction of the former general counsel of semiconductor packaging company Amkor Technology Inc. on three charges related to insider trading.

In a decision Thursday, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said a district judge was wrong to overturn a jury's verdict convicting Kevin Heron of two counts of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy.
