Google, Others Sued Over Web Server Patent

Law360, New York (April 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Patent-holding company Parallel Networks LLC has hit three Internet-based companies — including Inc. and Google Inc. — with an infringement suit over a patent related to the way Web site servers handle data requests from lower speed clients.

The complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, also names Norwalk, Conn.-based Kayak Software Corp., an Internet search engine that allows users to search hundreds of travel sites to find available plane and hotel options.
