Ex-Massey Foreman Pleads Guilty After Fire Deaths

Law360, New York (April 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former Massey Energy Co. unit foreman has pled guilty to federal charges arising from a January 2006 fire at one of the energy giant's subsidiaries that left two miners dead.

One-time Aracoma Coal Co. foreman David Runyon admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia on Thursday to violating the federal Mine Safety & Health Act. He faces up to a year in prison.
