Enviro Claims Added To Asbestos Reinsurance Fight

Law360, New York (April 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- TIG Insurance Co. has added claims from an unrelated environmental settlement to its breach of contract lawsuit accusing two reinsurers of failing to pay TIG after it settled with Honeywell International Inc. over exposure to asbestos-related injuries.

TIG's amended complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, came one day after Magistrate Judge Theodore H. Katz ruled newly added claims would not prejudice defendant reinsurers Century Indemnity Co. and Ace Property and Casualty Insurance Co.
