DOE To Dole Out $4B For Smart Grid Efforts

Law360, New York (April 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy will release nearly $4 billion in stimulus money for technology related to the development of an electricity smart grid, Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke announced Thursday.

On a visit to Jefferson County, Mo., Biden and Locke outlined plans for $3.4 billion in technology and monitoring grants and an additional $615 million for smart grid demonstration projects.
