Ex-GMAC Chair Talked To Madoff Investigators: Court

Law360, New York (April 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hedge fund operator J. Ezra Merkin gave testimony to regulators investigating Bernard L. Madoff's $65 billion Ponzi scheme, a judge overseeing New York University's lawsuit against Merkin said in a recent court ruling.

In a ruling signed Tuesday, New York State Supreme Court Justice Richard B. Lowe III said a deposition that Merkin gave in the NYU suit could be made public because it only revealed that he gave testimony and the circumstances surrounding that testimony.
