High Court Rejects Ex-Westar CEO Sentence Appeal

Law360, New York (April 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has refused a bid by David Wittig, the former head of Westar Energy Inc., to appeal a two-year jail sentence he is serving following a bank fraud conviction.

The high court issued an order Monday denying Wittig's petition to challenge the sentence, which was handed down by the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas in early 2007.
