Natl Grid Retirees' Claims Not ADEA-Covered: Judge

Law360, New York (April 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has dismissed a proposed class action by a group of retired employees of National Grid USA that alleged the company's health care benefit plans discriminated against older workers, noting that because the plans are coordinated with Medicare, they are exempt from the provisions of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
