Intel Faces Fine In EU Antitrust Ruling: Report

Law360, New York (April 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Computer chip giant Intel Corp. is reportedly facing a fine and a ban on sales rebates by the European Union's antitrust watchdog, which is preparing to hand down its ruling in a case that has spanned eight years.

A draft decision by the European Commission, which last July charged Intel with abusing its dominant position in the computer processor market, has been circulated to 27 national competition authorities, according to a Bloomberg report Tuesday.
