EEOC Puts Caregiver Bias Back In The Spotlight

Law360, New York (April 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released a set of caregiver best practices Wednesday aimed at helping employers go beyond federal nondiscrimination requirements for employees with caregiving responsibilities.

“Today we take another step forward, articulating not just the bare minimum required to avoid unlawful discrimination, but also thinking broadly about the ways in which family-friendly workplace policies can improve workers ability to balance caregiving responsibilities with work,” EEOC Acting Chairman Stuart J. Ishimaru said in a statement.
