Law360, New York (April 23, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Specialty plastics maker Kapak Co. LLC has slapped several major coffee retailers — including Folgers Coffee Co., Dunkin' Brands Inc. and Celestial Seasonings Inc. — with a suit alleging infringement of two patents for a vented plastic coffee bag.
The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, argues that the companies have infringed two Kapak patents through a variety of their ground and whole bean coffee products sold in reseable bags for home consumption.
