Dems Introduce Bill To Give OSH Act More Teeth

Law360, New York (April 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- House Democrats have introduced a new version of the Protecting America's Workers Act, which would amend the Occupational Safety and Health of 1970 to expand coverage, enhance whistleblower protections and stiffen civil and criminal penalties for safety violations.

The Protecting America's Workers Act (H.R. 2067) was introduced by House Democrats led by Rep. Lynn Woolsey of California on Thursday. Similar bills, with the same title, were introduced in the 109th and 110th congressional sessions, but never made it into law.
