Atlantic States Fined $8M In Enviro, Safety Case

Law360, New York (April 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge slapped McWane Inc. unit Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Co. with $8 million in fines on Friday stemming from the company's conviction on a slew of environmental and worker safety-related charges in April 2006.

The sentencing of Atlantic States marks the last in a series of sentences meted out this week by U.S. District Judge Mary L. Cooper of the District of New Jersey to the company and four men for their convictions in the case.
