$45M Infringement Verdict V. Limelight Set Aside

Law360, New York (April 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dealing a setback to Akamai Technologies Inc.’s infringement case, a federal judge has found Limelight Networks Inc. did not violate its Internet content delivery patent and set aside a $45.5 million jury verdict against Limelight.

Judge Rya W. Zobel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Friday granted Limelight’s bid for judgment as a matter of law and cleared the Tempe, Ariz.-based company of infringement in light of a recent appeals court decision.
