$100M Verdict For Mattel Over Bratz Dolls Upheld

Law360, New York (April 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has reportedly allowed a $100 million jury verdict for Barbie manufacturer Mattel Inc. to stand in a copyright spat with MGA Entertainment Inc. over the popular line of Bratz dolls.

Judge Stephen G. Larson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Monday upheld the August verdict that found MGA should pay Mattel $100 million in damages for copyright infringement and employment contract interference, according to the Associated Press.
