ITC To Probe Sprint, Virgin Over Phone Patents

Law360, New York (April 29, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Responding to a complaint from a Virginia-based patent-holding company, the U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into alleged infringement of patents for cell phone technology by several companies, including Sprint Nextel Corp. and Virgin Mobile USA Inc.

The commission announced Wednesday that it had begun looking into the claims made by SPH America LLC in a complaint filed in March that six companies have infringed two of its patents.
