UK Competition Agencies Push Consistent Protocol

Law360, New York (April 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.K.'s Competition Commission and the Office of Fair Trading have released new draft guidelines on how the competitive effects of mergers are evaluated by authorities, in an effort to maintain a consistent approach by the two agencies.

In a statement released Thursday, the agencies also called for comment from interested parties on the joint draft, noting that it was the first time the two agencies have joined forces to produce a single set of guidelines.
