Deals Rumor Mill: JPMorgan, Bombardier, Elliott

By Benjamin Horney (October 1, 2015, 6:05 PM EDT) -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. is set to bid for roughly £12 billion ($18.2 billion) in mortgages being sold by the U.K. government, Bloomberg reported Thursday. According to the report, New York-based JPMorgan will partner CarVal Investors LLC on an offer for the mortgage book being sold by U.K. Asset Resolution Ltd., a government unit that manages lenders that were nationalized during the financial crisis. An auction process for the mortgages has seen a number of interested suitors pop up, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Blackstone Group LP and Banco de Sabadell SA, among others, the report added....
