Deals Rumor Mill: ABF, Telecom Italia, Pershing Square

By Benjamin Horney (May 10, 2016, 7:57 PM EDT) -- U.K. food and retail company Associated British Foods PLC is mulling the sale of its Chinese sugar business, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, and a deal could net the company as much as $1 billion. According to the report, ABF is accepting proposals for the China-based operations of its AB Sugar unit, which was formed in 1995 and has factories and mills in both southern and northern China. Chinese companies could be among the potential suitors, the report noted, and offers are due before the end of this month....
