Cuomo Says BofA Using Atty Privilege To Duck Probe

Law360, New York (September 08, 2009, 7:05 PM ET) -- In a letter addressed to Bank of America Corp. lawyer Lewis J. Liman of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP on Tuesday, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo accused BofA of using attorney-client privilege to hamper a probe into the bank's buyout of troubled Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.

The letter accused BofA of using attorney-client privilege as “both a sword and a shield.”
