Geithner's NY Fed Pushed AIG Not To Reveal Loan Info

Law360, New York (January 07, 2010, 6:40 PM ET) -- A Republican congressman has released a series of e-mails from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York urging American International Group Inc. not to disclose information related to a $25 billion loan the New York Fed issued to pay off AIG's credit default obligations.

The office of Rep. Darrell Issa, R.-Calif., on Thursday released to Law360 the e-mail exchanges, which were sent by New York Fed lawyers in November and December 2008 when now-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner still headed the New York Fed.
