Liberty Settlement Closes Marketing Patent Suit

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 5:40 PM ET) -- Liberty Life Insurance Co. has become the final defendant to settle a pair of Arizona licensing companies' suit accusing two dozen insurers and financial companies of infringing three patents for automated financial services marketing programs.

Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham IV of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Wednesday granted Phoenix Licensing LLC, LPL Licensing LLC and Liberty's agreed motion to dismiss their claims with prejudice, marking the final resolution in the suit originally brought by the licensing companies in 2007....
