Law360, New York (June 10, 2010, 11:48 AM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reportedly ramping up a probe into another complex mortgage-backed deal crafted by Goldman Sachs Group Inc., on the heels of a civil suit filed against the financial giant in April over a separate agreement.
The SEC is now examining a $2 billion collateralized debt obligation called Hudson Mezzanine Funding, the Financial Times reported Thursday. In recent weeks, the regulator has been gathering information on Hudson Mezzanine, the newspaper said, citing unnamed sources close to the matter.
